2016 International judging panel

So far, 17 judges have been confirmed to join the judging panel in Best in Biz Awards 2016 International. This includes judges from our previous years’ panels, returning to judge this year’s program, as well as several new additions to the high-profile group.

ARD (Germany)

Dominique Lars Ziesemer

DOMINIQUE L. ZIESEMER has worked in television for nearly 20 years. For six years, he has been the presenter of a TV advice magazine about consumer technology products, including mobile phones as well as security systems, in the most widely broadcasted German TV channel ARD. Today, he continues to produce TV shows and develop new formats. In 2009 he was a member of the jury of the famous Rose D’Or Festival. He also represented various large organizations like the Frauenhofer Institut at fairs. He graduated from Mainz University with a research thesis about people’s “zapping” behavior.

Australian (Australia)

Damon Kitney

DAMON KITNEY joined The Australian in July 2010 as Victorian business editor. In this role Damon works with the papers’ business editor to co-ordinate its corporate coverage, and additionally, he also writes across a broad range of sectors focusing on larger feature and exclusive, in-depth interviews, including for The Deal magazine. Before joining The Australian, Damon worked at The Australian Financial Review for 16 years based in Canberra, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne. During this time he was companies editor, news editor and a deputy editor at the newspaper.

SHARON BENNETT is an IT blogger for Small Business IT, one of Biz-Tech’s Top 50 Must Read IT Blogs and is currently writing her second book on IT for parents to help keep their kids safe online. She brings over 18 years of IT experience from a variety of roles, including most recently running her own business as an IT Partner and Microsoft VAR. For the past 3 years, Sharon worked with small business customers and helped them implement technologies that enable them to work more efficiently while ensuring their company data is safe and available anytime from anywhere. Sharon is a Microsoft Small Business Specialist, MCT and holds several Microsoft certifications. Sharon is also a teacher and active member of her local community.

JAIME RODRíGUEZ-GUERRA is a Spanish biotechnologist specialized in bioinformatics who also happens to contribute regularly to Computer Hoy, the Spanish sibling of Europe’s top selling computer magazine Computer Bild. An early interest in bioscience and technology makes him a rare specimen who can enjoy artificial enzyme modelling while writing about the latest trends in web design, the psychological consequences of social media or easy-to-understand step-by-step tutorials. Gamers Intuition (United States)

Didi Cardoso

DIANA “DIDI” CARDOSO is the Editor-in-Chief of Gamer’s Intuition, a website providing reviews on popular games as well as articles and news on the games industry. She has been playing video games for as long as she can remember, and has had the opportunity to attend the E3 conference for several years to keep up with the newest trends in gaming. She is featured on a Portuguese gaming podcast directed by Ene3Play and also works as a certified Portuguese interpreter in the Toronto/Hamilton area. An avid fan of “The Witcher,” she won a costume contest with a homemade Triss outfit and appears as a shopkeeper in “The Witcher 2.”

Zvi Wrobel

ZVI WROBEL is the senior editor, with more than 10 years of experience, at HTIsrael group, the home for the largest technical consumer electronics centered community in Israel. MANJULA RAMAKRISHNAN is former editor of the magazines Business Quality Review and Dubai Rotary in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In her career spanning 25 years, Manjula has written well over 3000 articles on a variety of subjects. She currently contributes articles on fashion, lifestyle, art, healthcare, education, besides writing on local events for Panorama Magazine, Sharjah. She is also co-founder of the online portal www.mrwebedit.com.

George Georgallides

GEORGE GEORGALLIDES regularly contributes to business publications, including InBusiness, and covers entrepreneurship through VentureOut, his own blog on venture investing and entrepreneurial insights. He is a managing partner at Curious Ventures, an early stage new media fund. In addition to his role as an institutional investor, George is involved with start-up communities in the U.S., Latin America and Europe either as an advisor, mentor or angel investor and has founded/co-founded companies in the international trade, medical device and media space.

Martina Devlin

MARTINA DEVLIN is an award-winning Irish journalist and author. Her books include a ghost story, The House Where It Happened, optioned for film, and the number one bestseller Banksters, a co-authored account of the Irish banking collapse. Her latest novel is About Sisterland, set in the near future in a world ruled by women… it should be perfect but it all goes horribly wrong. She has won the VS Pritchett short story prize awarded by Britain’s Royal Society of Literature, a Hennessy Literary Award. Martina is based in Dublin, where she writes a weekly column on current affairs for the Irish Independent, and has been named columnist of the year by the National Newspapers of Ireland. ERANA KEELAN-REEDY manages the award winning iwi radio station, Radio Ngati Porou, nestled in the main street of the small town of Ruatoria in the north island of New Zealand. Erana has over 30 years experience in producing Maori language content for radio and television starting as a reporter on the Maori language news programme Te Karere in 1985 and has been an associate producer of News and Current Affairs for Maori Television. Douglas Imaralu

DOUGLAS IMARALU is a Nigerian journalist with multifaceted interests ranging from international law, development economics, entrepreneurship, youth development, education, rights to digital assets, to business development. He holds a BA in English Language and was online editor for pan-African business magazine and daily news service company, Ventures Africa. Prior to that, Douglas trained with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and also freelanced for an African development news site, CP-Africa.com. In his first year as online editor, his impact on ventures-africa.com, a start up at the point, elevated it to requisite source of news with regards to chronicling the African economic renaissance and entrepreneurship on the continent. He revitalized the editorial content and social media strategy, leveraging on the peculiar expertise of local journalists across Africa. Douglas’ concern for entrepreneurship and economic development in Africa has also fueled his passion for international relations, law and policy formulation. During his 45-year-long carrier in journalism, Barbhaya worked at Phulchhab, a leading daily newspaper published from Rajkot, currently in its 92nd year of publication and started with blessing of Mahatma Gandhi, in various capacities from sub-editor to assistant editor for 21 years, as well as a resident editor of Gujarat Samachar and Sandesh, both leading daily newspapers from Gujarat state.
